Music

Alright this post is kind of one that has no importance because its success relies on how many comments it gets. What I'd kind of like is a discussion of the music you all listen to and what music does for you. Links are welcome. Pretty much I'm cool with all posts just follow my one rule, don't be a dick.

Personally I like most styles of music with the exception of death metal, country, and new rap ( I actually like old school rap). If I had to narrow it down I'd be a rock fan. Old stuff like Zepplin, Floyd, Def Leppard, GnR, Ac\Dc, the Stones, and music like that is what I enjoy listening to the most. How about you?

One of those high posts

Hello, this is one of those high posts. Why are we here? I don't really care about "Gods" or "God" and a divine purpose. I don't want to know about how, in the vastness of the universe, earth is the only planet on which we have found life, but I'm looking for a general goal for people to have. Something we can all strive for.

What do people want most? I mean fuck when the image of simple want comes to mind pretty much everyone is mind fucked into thinking of the american dream. A house with a big yard, two kids, a dog, a cat, and whatever... zone out. TO continue on...  Thats not bad but that can't be what everybody wants. What about the rest, the ones who live fast and die young? Shit it's not what I wanna do but it's an option some choose.

I absolutely refuse to believe that life is about the aquisition of wealth. Money can get you so far but it'll never give you all you need. Theres a lot of miserable rich men and some of the happiest people I've ever seen were poor.

I'm not sure where I'm planning on going with this so I'll cut it short. I don't know. Although that's probably the point. No one knows. No one knows because there is no singular answer. Life is different for everyone. I like to think that the purpose of life is to live the way you want to. Whatever. I need to go make nachos so I can't go proofread but please, post your opinions on why we're here.

Found this argument on gun control and felt like posting it. It's glorious

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and
force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of
either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under
threat of force. Every human interaction falls into one of those two
categories, without exception. Reason or force, that’s it.
In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact
through persuasion.  Force has no place as a valid method of social
interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the
personal firearm,  as paradoxical as it may sound to some.
When I carry a gun, you  cannot deal with me by force. You have to use
reason and try to  persuade me, because I have a way to negate your
threat or employment of force.
The gun is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound woman on equal
footing with a 220-pound mugger, a 75-year old retiree on equal footing
with a 19-year old gang banger, and a single guy on equal footing with a
carload of drunk guys with baseball bats. The gun removes the disparity
in physical strength, size, or numbers between a potential attacker and
a defender.
There are plenty of people who consider the gun as the source of bad
force equations. These are the people who think that we’d be more
civilized if all guns were removed from society, because a firearm makes
it easier for an armed mugger to do his job. That, of course, is only
true if the mugger’s potential victims are mostly disarmed either by
choice or by legislative fiat–it has no validity when most of a
mugger’s potential marks are armed.
People who argue for the banning of arms ask for automatic rule by the
young, the strong, and the many, and that’s the exact opposite of a
civilized society. A mugger, even an armed one, can only make a
successful living in a society where the state has granted him a force
monopoly.
Then there’s the argument that the gun makes confrontations lethal that
otherwise would only result in injury. This argument is fallacious in
several ways. Without guns involved, confrontations are won by the
physically superior party inflicting overwhelming injury on the loser.
People who think that fists, bats, sticks, or stones don’t constitute
lethal force watch too much TV, where people take beatings and come out
of it with a bloody lip at worst. The fact that the gun makes lethal
force easier works solely in  favor of the weaker defender, not the
stronger attacker. If both are armed, the field is level.
The gun is the only weapon that’s as lethal in the hands of an
octogenarian as it is in the hands of a weight lifter. It simply
wouldn’t work as well as a force equalizer if it wasn’t both lethal and
easily employable.
When I carry a gun, I don’t do so because I am looking for a fight, but
because I’m looking to be left alone. The gun at my side means that I
cannot be forced, only persuaded.  I don’t carry it because I’m afraid,
but because it enables me to be unafraid.  It doesn’t limit the actions
of those who would interact with me through reason, only the actions of
those who would do so by force.  It removes force from the equation…
and that’s why carrying a gun is a civilized act.
So the greatest civilization is one where all citizens are equally armed
and can only be persuaded, never forced.

Stoners

Alright so basically I've been hearing the terms "Stoners" and "Potheads" a lot and I'm wondering...Why are those bad things to be? For the most part, all the negative things said about stoners are bullshit. Plain and simple. One of the things said about stoners is that they are lazy. I've never met someone more willing to go on an adventure than someone who's high. Marijuana just makes you enjoy the little things and do more.
Also, they're criticized for their intelligence. If marijuana does affect your intellect, in my experience it's normally in a positive sense. Marijuana is proven to help with ADHD and other learning problems. I took an SAT test while high and was in the 95th percentile for my grade nation wide The most annoying thing said is that pot smokers need marijuana to have a good time. People smoke weed because it makes things better, not simply because the herb its self is awesome. Its an enhancer, it takes food and makes it taste better, it takes music and makes it sounds better, it makes jokes funnier, movies more entertaining, and sports more intense. I know this post is rambling but whatever. I felt like typing it

What this is About

Quite simply I'll post my thoughts when high and possibly contrast them to sober views later.
